Plastic couplings can significantly replace welded joints. They are indispensable, especially for anodized profiles.The steel core in the plastic coupling significantly strengthens the connection of the profiles. These couplings are used in the construction of rack structures, stands, etc.
Couplings with a steel core and without a core can be combined, e.g. in a shelving assembly - the upper shelf, where there is not so much load, couplings with a metal core may not be needed, but cheaper plastic couplings without a core can be used.
Couplings with a steel core are very often used in the construction of aquarium walls due to their variability and strength.
